Tucked into the Dock Road end of the V&A Waterfront, beside the well-known Scratch Patch gemstone store and close to the Two Oceans Aquarium, Cave Golf is an 18-hole mini-golf course laid out inside a man-made cave. Because the whole course is indoors, it is one of the few Waterfront attractions you can enjoy regardless of the weather, which makes it a reliable fallback on a wet or windy Cape Town day.
The course itself is compact but well thought out. Each hole winds through the cave with its own twists, turns and themed obstacles, so it stays entertaining for young children while still posing a genuine challenge to grown-ups and even regular golfers. A round generally takes 30 to 45 minutes depending on the size and pace of your group, and a putter and ball are handed out at the start, with all the equipment included in the entry price.
Cave Golf is run by Scratch Patch and is deliberately budget-friendly: expect to pay roughly R45 per player, dropping to about R40 each for groups of ten or more, plus a small refundable deposit on your club that you get back when you return it at the end. There is no need to book in advance, so you can simply walk up.
