Privacy Policy
Last updated 15 June 2026
I Love Adventure (“we”, “us”) is a Cape Town adventure directory. We keep things simple and collect as little about you as possible. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your rights under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
What we collect
- When you submit an adventure: your name, email address, and the details you choose to provide (description, photos/video links, ratings). We store these in our content system so we can review the submission and, if approved, publish it.
- Your “adventure passport” (check-ins, chosen avatar, want-to-do list, levels) is stored only on your own device in your browser. It never reaches our servers and we cannot see it. Clearing your browser data removes it.
- We do not use accounts or passwords, and we do not run advertising or analytics/tracking cookies at this time.
- Our embedded map (MapTiler) and videos (YouTube, in privacy-enhanced “no-cookie” mode) may set technical cookies or log requests under their own privacy policies when you interact with them.
How we use your information
We use submission details only to review, contact you about, and (if approved) publish your adventure. We do not sell your personal information or share it for marketing.
Your rights (POPIA)
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information you've given us. Just email iloveadventure.capetown@gmail.com and we'll action it. You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa).
Retention
We keep submissions while they're relevant to the directory. Ask us any time and we'll remove your details.
Changes
We may update this policy as the site grows (for example, if we later add accounts or analytics). We'll revise the “last updated” date above.
